Rotherham United striker Derek Holmes has joined Scottish First Division side St Johnstone.
Holmes linked up with Rotherham from Carlisle United 12 months ago and scored 11 goals in 37 League Two appearances last season.
Reports recently suggested the Millers would release Holmes from the final year of his contract to allow the 29-year-old to return to Scotland.
The former Hearts and Ross County forward has now agreed a one-year deal with St Johnstone and hopes to help the club secure promotion back to the SPL.
"I enjoyed my time in England," said Holmes in the Daily Record. "I won League Two with Bournemouth and also the Conference and a championship with Carlisle.
"Hopefully that's a good omen and I can help Saints get into the SPL. I'm a better player than when I left Scotland and hopefully I can show that this season."
