Mills backed despite charges
Rotherham's Pablo Mills has been charged with burglary and causing criminal damage.
Rotherham defender Pablo Mills has been charged with burglary and causing criminal damage, but Millers boss Alan Knill has vowed to keep picking him.The 22-year-old is alleged to have committed the offences at a property in Derby on July 1 this year.
Appearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court in Derby, Mills entered no plea and was remanded on conditional bail.
The case was adjourned and will now be heard at Derby Crown Court on November 30.
Knill has given his full support to Mills, and urged everyone not to jump to conclusions.
"No-one is guilty until they are proven guilty and we will give him our full backing until we learn otherwise," he explained.
"Everybody deserves a chance. I've spoken to Pablo today and obviously I know all about it.
"He assures us that it was a domestic problem and we think everything is going to be okay.
"He's a really good lad and he assures me that it's nothing serious and that it will all blow over.
"He is surprised that it has come to this but when you're a footballer, this sort of thing can happen."
Mills has been in good form since arriving at Rotherham on a free transfer in the summer, and Knill can see no reason why he should be dropped from the side.
"He's been fantastic from the minute he walked through the door," Knill praised.
"His attitude is brilliant and he's always bubbly and he's probably been one of our most outstanding players.
"There's no way that I won't pick him."
