Mansfield Town have signed Stockport County midfielder Fraser McLachlan.
Mansfield Town have signed midfielder Fraser McLachlan on a permanent basis from League One side Stockport County.The 21-year-old joined The Stags on loan back in November before suffering a medial ligament injury in his left knee.
Despite that recent injury setback, McLachlan did enough to impress Field Mill caretaker manager Carlton Palmer and earn a contract with the League Two side until the end of October 2005.
McLachlan was delighted to sign his 10-month deal with the Nottinghamshire-based club.
"I have enjoyed my time here so far, there is a great bunch of lads in the changing room at the club and I am pleased that I have been offered a decent contract," McLachlan told the club's official website.
"As a footballer, it is important to get regular first team football and I believe that I can prove myself to Carlton and get that at Field Mill."
Meanwhile, Mansfield's hopes of signing on-loan striker Paul Warne to a permanent deal has suffered a setback after parent club Rotherham United recalled him from Field Mill.
The 31-year-old was in the second month of his loan spell and had expressed his interest in signing an 18-month permanent deal with The Stags after the club had tabled an offer to him.
Warne's call-back may have only delayed Mansfield's plans of making the hit-man a permanent member of their squad, but it remains to be seen if they can secure his services.
