Rotherham United midfielder Chris Sedgwick has signed a new three-year contract with the Championship club.

The 24-year-old's previous deal at Millmoor was due to expire at the current season's end, but the former club trainee will continue his career with the South Yorkshire outfit for the next three years.

Sedgwick was delighted to put pen-to-paper with Rotherham after lengthy contract talks with the club.

"I needed to make sure everything was right because it is the biggest and most important contract of my career so far," Sedgwick told the club's official website.

"Now I can settle down and look forward to the rest of the season when I will be looking to score a few more goals than I have done recently."
