ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Ronnie Moore has called on Irish manager Mick McCarthy to look at his in-form striker Alan Lee.

The high-flying Millers are currently fifth in Division One after a great start to the new season and nobody has played a larger part than many with seven goals in 10 games.

"I don't see any reason why he can't play for the Republic of Ireland," said Moore.

"Ireland have always played with a big man up-front, but now that Niall Quinn has retired, Mick must be looking for a replacement.

"I'll be on to Mick to tell him how well Alan's playing."
