Chesterfield defender Drew Talbot has suffered an injury setback and will miss the start of the new season.
Talbot played in a pre-season friendly at Matlock last week but has since had a recurrence of the pubic bone problem that kept him out for spells during the last campaign.
The 27-year-old right-back is likely to be out for around six weeks, with the Spireites set to kick-off their League One season away at Leyton Orient on August 9.
"This injury is a manifestation of problems in the groin area over the last 18 months," Chesterfield head of sports science and medicine Rodger Wylde told the club's official website.
"They've unravelled each problem one-by-one and now hopefully this will be the last piece of the jigsaw in the road to recovery."
Talbot said via his Twitter account: "So bad news it is! No time to sulk and feel sorry for myself, I'll be working harder than ever, if that's possible, to get myself back fit."
