Chesterfield winger Tendayi Darikwa has signed a one-year contract extension with the newly-promoted Sky Bet League One club.

The improved deal ties the versatile 22-year-old, who can also play at right-back, to the Spireites until the summer of 2016. Darikwa, who made 50 appearances in all competitions for Paul Cook's team last season, told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to get it sorted out and I can't wait for the season to start. "I can focus on the football side of things now after talking about my contract situation with my agent over the last few months. "Hopefully I can repay the club with some good performances next season. I think we've got a good group of players and there's no reason why we can't push on." Darikwa is closing in on 100 appearances for Chesterfield after making his senior debut against Burton Albion in the FA Cup in November 2010.
