Lester accepts FA charge

Chesterfield striker Jack Lester will serve a suspension after the club decided not to appeal against his violent conduct charge.

Lester was charged by the Football Association on Tuesday in relation to an incident that occurred during the League One fixture against Walsall at the b2net Stadium last weekend - a match in which the 36-year-old scored a last-minute equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw for the Spireites. The incident, which is alleged to have occurred in the 84th minute of the game, was missed by the match officials at the time but was caught on camera. The suspension will come into effect immediately, meaning Lester will miss the away games at Huddersfield (Boxing Day) and Scunthorpe (New Year's Eve) and the home match against Oldham (January 2). Lester has only recently resumed action after three months out with a broken arm, the game against Walsall was his first start since returning.
