Chesterfield have been dealt an injury blow with the news Derek Niven could be out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.
The 27-year-old midfielder suffered the ligament damage this week. Niven is the League One club's longest serving player and has played over 250 games for the Spireites. His absence could hasten the need for manager John Sheridan to go into the transfer market, with the Blues boss already looking to sign up to four new players.
