Chesterfield have released veteran defender Rob Page with the player having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The 36-year-old joined the League Two club in June 2008. "The time is right to move on and I am now looking for a coaching opportunity in the game," said Page, who made 63 appearances for Chesterfield. "I have nothing but praise for everyone at Chesterfield and am delighted that the club is having success at the new stadium and I wish the lads all the best in their pursuit of promotion." Blues boss John Sheridan added: "Rob Page is the ultimate professional and we all wish him the best for the future."
