Scunthorpe's pursuit of Morecambe winger bears fruit

Winger Mark Duffy has completed his move to Scunthorpe from Morecambe for an undisclosed fee. As revealed by skysports.com on Tuesday, the Championship strugglers were closing in on a deal for Duffy, who has impressed in League Two this season. This interest has now come to fruition, with the former Liverpool trainee having signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Glanford Park. The 25-year-old made 75 appearances for the Shrimps, scoring seven goals, after joining the club initially on loan from Southport in February 2009 before making the switch permanent later that summer. He is the latest acquisition for Iron boss Ian Baraclough as he seeks to keep his side in the second tier of English football.
