Second loan signing for League Two strugglers

Darlington boss Steve Staunton has continued to strengthen his squad by signing midfielder Paul Harsley on loan from Chesterfield. Harsley, who has joined the Quakers until 2nd January, follows the signing of Leeds youngster Andrew Milne on loan deadline day. Experienced holding midfielder Harsley began his career with Grimsby before signing for hometown club Scunthorpe in 1997, where he played more than 100 games. The 31-year-old then had spells with Halifax, Northampton, Macclesfield and Port Vale, where he won the club's player of the year award at the end of the 2007-08 season, before signing for Chesterfield in the summer of 2008. Harsley has played more than 400 career league and cup games in League One and Two in the last 12 years.
