Former Luton forward Drew Talbot has joined Chesterfield on a two-year deal.
The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Saltergate and has now made the move permanent on a free transfer.
The Hatters reached an agreement with the versatile Talbot to terminate the remainder of his contract at Kenilworth Road.
Spireites boss John Sheridan said: "We have had Drew watched during pre-season and he has had a good pre-season and looks sharp.
"I know about him and what he is capable of and I understand he did well when he was here last season.
"He can play in a variety of positions. He can play out wide or up front but he comes here as a striker and I am pleased to get him in."
