Davies keen on Gunter and Blackstock deals

Billy Davies has announced that Ian Breckin will be moving on from Nottingham Forest. The defender has been unable to command a regular starting role this season and Davies has decided not to renew his contract. The Forest manager still rates Breckin highly and expects him to be successful for his next club. "He has too much to offer to just play 10 or 12 games a season for us. I am sure he will contribute a great deal to another club," said Davies. Davies is already planning for the future following Forest's 3-1 victory over Southampton on the final day of the season. He hopes to secure permanent deals for loan signings Chris Gunter and Dexter Blackstock, who are due to return to Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers respectively. "I am going to meet with the board with the board this week and discuss things," he explained. "If I had the option of taking Gunter permanently I would do so. But if his club say no, I would be delighted to take him on a season-long lean. "We have touched base with QPR with regard to Dexter. We are trying to find out about fees and such like. The conversation has begun."
