Lester brace helps Chesterfield see off Bulls

Hereford United missed the chance to move second in League Two following a 4-0 defeat at Chesterfield. The Spireites forged ahead inside two minute when Jamie Lowry slotting home under Wayne Brown after good work by veteran striker Jack Lester. Lester was proving a handful for Graeme Turner's side and he capitalised on some woeful defending by doubling their lead after 21 minutes. Hereford had no answer for Lester and he bagged his shortly before half-time after skipping past two defenders in the box before tucking home inside the near post. The home side were inches from adding to their lead after the break, but Jamie Ward's stunning long-range strike crashed off the crossbar to safety. However, it mattered not as Chesterfield bagged a fourth in injury time when youngster Brendan Moloney ran from the half-way line to the edge of Hereford's penalty area before lashing a left-footed strike into the back of the net.
