Branston leaves on good terms

Guy Branston has praised the professionalism of Bradford City following his exit from Valley Parade.

The 33-year-old defender has left the club by mutual consent after one season in West Yorkshire where he made 19 appearances. Branston vowed to stay and fight for his place after being told he could find a new club by boss Phil Parkinson earlier in the summer, but the two parties have now gone their separate ways. "I'm happy to part company because I want to play and I was told I wasn't going to," he said. "Phil Parkinson was very professional with me and did things properly and we agreed it was the right decision to move on. "I'm not one to sit on the bench and pick my wages up. I want to play football, everyone knows that, that's why I've had such a travelling career. "The way the club have acted with me has been absolutely tremendous, they have been positive and respected me as a footballer and I leave on a positive note."
