Andrew Davies turned down advances from several League One clubs to sign a permanent deal at Bradford City, the defender has revealed.

The 27-year-old spent eight months on loan from Stoke last season and opted to sign an initial one-year contract with the Bantams three weeks ago.

"It was one of those situations where I went away in the summer and had a good think through my options," Davies told the club's official website.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time here last season. The supporters were fantastic to me. There were other clubs interested in me, but I see the potential in this place. I can see this place really taking off.

"In my opinion, I felt the other clubs interested in me weren't as big as Bradford. These were teams in the league above ours and beyond.

"With everything this club has to offer, the size of the place, the fanbase, I feel there's a really good chance of this club moving forward and I wanted to be a part of it."
