Clarke calls on team spirit

Crawley striker Billy Clarke feels the club can still achieve promotion, despite only winning one game in their previous six.

The Red Devils face a tough game against fellow promotion hopefuls Torquay this weekend before a clash with fourth-placed Southend. Clarke feels that March could be a pivotal month and has warned his team-mates that it will only get tougher from here. "It's still early doors. When the going does get tough - and I wouldn't say we're in any sort of slump at the moment - we'll need to dig in and hopefully it doesn't come to that," he told Crawley News. "We've still got good players, but we need to work hard and stick together to get out of the league," Clarke's versatility has seen him deployed out wide and up front and he is happy to do a job for the team and not let a lack of goals frustrate him. "It would be nice to score, but I'm not going to dwell on it. I know I've scored a lot of goals at this level before, so I know I'm capable of it. When a top scorer (Tyrone Barnett) leaves any club it's difficult, but that just paves the way for someone else."
