Parko slams ref after defeat

Image: Parkinson: Unhappy with decisions

Phil Parkinson felt referee Chris Sarginson got major decisions wrong as Bristol Rovers took the points in a 2-1 win over Bradford.

Parkinson was most incensed his side were denied a penalty in the closing minutes when Chris Zebroski appeared to chop down substitute Kyel Reid. But Parkinson also felt Sarginson was unsure in sending off City full-back Rob Kozluk for a second bookable offence after 65 minutes when Eliot Richards went down under an aerial challenge. After the 2-1 loss, Parkinson said: "I asked the ref why he didn't give us a penalty at the end and he told me to watch the match DVD - I don't have to because I know it was a penalty. Yes, Rovers should have had one in the first half but that shouldn't affect the second decision. "Rob Kozluk had his eye on the ball when he picked up his second caution and there was no intention to make contact with the Rovers player. His first booking was harsh and the second incident warranted no more than a talking to. "We didn't help ourselves by conceding two poor goals but the spirit the lads showed when down to 10 men was fantastic."
