Bradford striker Craig Fagan has relished his role as stand-in skipper while Michael Flynn has been sidelined through illness.
Flynn, who had a recent spell in hospital due to a virus, has missed the last four matches and Fagan, signed by Bradford for an undisclosed fee in September, has been handed the captain's armband.
Fagan told the club's official website: "It's been good. I've enjoyed the bit of extra responsibility that comes with wearing the armband.
"To be fair, we have a few players in the team who are happy to give out advice and show a bit of vocal support, but it's definitely something I'm enjoying.
"On the whole, the results have been pretty decent as well for most of the games that I've been captain, so that helps.
"When Flynny comes back though I'll be more than happy to step aside and let him take the armband back and become just one of the lads again."
