Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed he is in talks with Falkirk regarding a loan extension for Jack Compton.
Parkinson is keen to agree a fresh deal for Compton after Kyel Reid suffered a hamstring injury during Boxing Day's 3-0 home win over Crewe Alexandra.
Reid is expected to be sidelined for several weeks and he was replaced against Crewe by Compton, who has made 20 appearances for the Bantams.
Compton's deal is due to expire after the New Year's Eve game at home to Shrewsbury Town and Parkinson is optimistic an extension can be agreed.
"We're speaking to Falkirk already regarding Jack and we'll have to have more conversations with him," said Parkinson.
"Obviously he's available for Saturday anyway and hopefully we'll get something sorted.
"I'm really disappointed for Reidy but sometimes you get those injuries on the heavy grounds, especially with the explosive type of player that he is."
