Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson lauded new loan signings Matt Phillips and Billy Clarke after the 4-2 win at Preston.

Winger Phillips scored twice in his first start for the Blades and Blackpool team-mate Clarke made his first appearance as further goals from Lee Williamson lifted them up to fifth place. Wilson said: "We were very aggressive going forward with the two options that we've got in Billy and Matty, particularly Matty who played a big part. "It was in the back of my mind to use the two new lads. It's times like these you have to use your squad. You've got to utilise your squad and trust them. "Matty was a direct threat and sometimes when you're not aware of these players, then you can be taken by surprise. Overall he was very, very effective and he does his defensive work very well. He's a good team guy. "Billy Clarke is very good. You get the ball to his feet and he's bright as a button. He's something we've not had all season, someone in that little pocket that I like to have to play people in."
