Bantam boss rues Hanson injury

Manager Phil Parkinson has said the extent of James Hanson's calf injury has caught Bradford by surprise.

Striker Hanson has missed the Bantams' last three matches after picking up the knock in the draw at Burton on October 1, and the Bradford management team originally expected he would recover quickly from the niggle. But, while Parkinson is hopeful the 23-year-old will be back for the clash with Northampton on Saturday, he revealed the injury has been a bigger problem than first thought. "What started off as a bit of a niggle in his calf has kept him out longer than we first expected," the boss told the club's official website. "We've got to make sure James is right before we think about including him because calves can be problem areas of the body. "We will have to see how he progresses this week."
