Bradford manager Phil Parkinson hailed his penalty heroes after a 4-3 shoot-out victory at Huddersfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Huddersfield midfielder Tommy Miller's 63rd-minute penalty cancelled out Antony Kay's own goal and then Town skipper Peter Clarke ensured extra-time after Bradford had regained the lead through Luke Oliver. Substitute Nialle Rodney converted the winning spot-kick in the shoot-out for Bradford, who also beat Sheffield Wednesday on penalties in the last round to go through. Parkinson said: "I'm really proud of the boys. It was a tremendous performance. I had to leave players out for one reason or another, but the players really stepped up to the plate. "I said before the game everybody had to do their job and go above and beyond the call of duty. "Towards the end we had Guy Branston and Andrew Davies throwing themselves at the ball and that's the kind of desire we need to be successful." Parkinson added: "Nialle did well and stepped up to win it and that's his Bradford City career up and running."
