Devitt doubt for Bantams

Bradford will monitor the fitness of Jamie Devitt ahead of Saturday's trip to Burton after the on-loan midfielder recently damaged his hip.

Devitt - who is on-loan from Hull - injured his hip flexor muscle during the second half of Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to AFC Wimbledon. Manager Phil Parkinson told Bradford's official website: "It's something we'll have to look into. He's an important player for us and his form has been a positive for us in recent weeks, so we'll be keen for that to continue." Meanwhile, Devitt and City team-mate Terry Dixon, currently on loan at non-league Halifax, have both been placed on standby for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 European Championship qualifier in Liechtenstein on October 11. With the clash falling on a Tuesday, the pair will not miss any club fixtures should they get called up. The same cannot be said for Bantams forward Nahki Wells, however, after he was named in Bermuda's squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers, meaning he is scheduled to miss City's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Huddersfield and the league fixture at home to Torquay.
