Di Canio to send Bodin on loan

Billy Bodin could be loaned out this week as Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio fine-tunes his squad for the start of the new term.

The promising young forward, a Wales Under-21 international, may be shipped out to gain valuable experience elsewhere, but, it is understood, only if Di Canio is able to strengthen his ranks in the transfer market with a striker of his own. "Billy is a good, talented player but he is a kid. He will have a good future in the game but at the moment he is a kid, I have to say this," Di Canio told the Swindon Advertiser. "I tell him every day to challenge for the ball and recover the position. We will decide in the next few days if he goes out on loan." Bodin is viewed primarily as a winger instead of a striker, with Di Canio boasting only Raffa De Vita and Alan Connell as marksmen for Saturday's opener against Crewe as Mehdi Kerrouche is ruled out with a knee injury.
