Notts County have completed their fourth capture in the space of a week with the signing of left-back Alan Sheehan.

The 24-year-old Irishman, who has penned a two-year deal at Meadow Lane, saw his contract expire at Swindon following their relegation to League Two. Sheehan initially travelled to Preston for a brief trial spell but has now signed a deal under Martin Allen, whom he played for at Leicester. Sheehan, who enjoyed a spell with Leeds in between his time with the Foxes and Swindon, told County's official website: "It was an opportunity to be at a good club and the opportunity to work under an ambitious manager, who I've worked with before at Leicester and enjoyed my time with him. "Obviously, he's signed a few players and it shows he means business, which is quite exciting." Allen has already captured Ishmel Demontagnac, Julian Kelly and Jude Stirling in the past seven days.
