Inspired Syers aiming higher

Bradford City's David Syers has called on his team-mates to emulate his impressive goalscoring feats.

The 23-year-old midfielder, in his first season in professional football, scored ten goals in 40 outings for the Bantams and was the club's top scorer. But the players' player-of-the-year at Valley Parade will not rest on his laurels and hopes to keep scoring next term. "Hopefully I'll get a few more starts next year and at least double figures again with goals," Syers told the Telegraph and Argus. "Then maybe we'll get a decent goal tally from the team as a whole to give us more to work with. "But hopefully next year the team will play better as a whole, create more chances and more people will be scoring goals."
