Skysports.com understands former Hibernian boss John Hughes has held talks with Bradford over the manager's job at Valley Parade.
Former Bradford player Peter Jackson has been placed in caretaker charge of the side following the departure of Peter Taylor last weekend.
However, the club have confirmed they are continuing to consider managerial applications for the post and Hughes is thought to figure highly on their wanted list.
Hughes has been out of work since leaving Hibs last October after 16 months at the helm of the Edinburgh outfit.
The 46-year-old is highly regarded in management circles after impressing in his first managerial role at Falkirk having guided them to promotion to the SPL and the Scottish Cup final during his time at the Bairns.
Hughes is thought to have been interviewed for the Bradford job and is now considering his options.
