Brown prepared to forgive and forget

Hull City boss Phil Brown is prepared to offer Caleb Folan a 'clean slate' uopn his return to the club. The striker has spent the last three months on loan at Championship outfit Middlesbrough, but is now heading back to the KC Stadium. The Republic of Ireland international appeared to have played his last game for the Tigers following his switch to Boro, with a frank exchange of views with Brown greeting his departure. Brown criticised the 27-year-old for failing to find the target in Hull's opening four games of the season and Folan branded the comments 'laughable' and 'childish'. He joined Boro with view to a possible permanent deal being struck at the end of his loan agreement, keen to take on a fresh challenge. However, a hamstring injury hampered his time on Teesside and he does not feature in Gordon Strachan's long-term plans. Folan is now set to resume training with Hull next week and Brown is adamant that he will give the experienced frontman every opportunity to force his way back into the fold.

Start again

He said: "He has accepted whatever has happened and I have. It is water under the bridge as far as we are concerned. "I am looking forward to working with him again. "From Monday onwards is a clean slate and we start again." Folan became Hull's first £1million player when he joined from Wigan in 2007 but has struggled to make an impact during the club's endeavours in the Premier League.
