Thorne and O'Leary not yet ready to make comebacks

Bradford City duo Peter Thorne and Stephen O'Leary have seen their return to first-team action delayed after suffering setbacks. Striker Thorne, the leading goalscorer at Valley Parade last season, will be out for at least another fortnight after aggravating the hamstring injury that has dogged him since the summer and restricted him to only five appearances this time around. Bantams boss Stuart McCall told the Telegraph & Argus: "His hamstring tightened up and he's got a little tear in the muscle. It will keep him out for 10 days to two weeks, but you've got to be careful. "If we'd risked it and pushed him on again, the tear could have got bigger and he'd be looking at a lot longer out." Midfielder O'Leary, a summer signing following his release from Hereford, broke his toe on his debut against Port Vale in August and was hoping to return against his former club on Saturday. But O'Leary has been told to take a complete rest again after a scan revealed his broken toe had not yet healed properly. McCall commented: "It's another nightmare for him. Originally he got medical advice that he could run on it and looked fit and sharp and ready to come back in. "But then he started to feel a bit of pain again. We took him for a second opinion, which showed that it hadn't healed as well as it should have."
