McCall no longer needs to offload midfielder

Bradford City boss Stuart McCall has confirmed he is no longer looking to offload veteran midfielder Chris Brandon. McCall has been forced to trim the wage bill at Valley Parade over the summer and Brandon was among the players told they could leave the club. However, after Graeme Lee and Paul McLaren were moved on, McCall has revealed Brandon is in his plans for the coming season. "At that stage, we needed to offload at least two of the big earners and we've done that," McCall told the Telegraph & Argus. "We don't really need to offload Chris and I've had a good chat with him. "His attitude and application has been spot on from day one. He just needs to continue playing and training as well as he is doing." Brandon joined the Bantams on a two-year deal from Huddersfield last summer, but an ankle injury restricted the 33-year-old to just seven appearances and he did not make his debut until March.
