Bradford City remain locked in contract talks with talented youngster Joe Colbeck.
The winger is mulling over an offer from the Bantams, with both parties hoping to reach an agreement shortly.
Should the 22-year-old fail to sign before Thursday, when his current deal is set to expire, he will then be employed on a week-to-week basis.
With Colbeck being under the age of 24, were he to ultimately leave Valley Parade then any prospective new employer would be forced to pay compensation to Bradford.
He is believed to be keen to extend his stay with the club, though, and City expect a deal to be completed.
Having progressed through the club's academy ranks, Colbeck has gone on to make over 100 first-team appearances and is regarded as a key figure in Stuart McCall's squad.
