Midfielder signs on at Boundary Park

Oldham have signed former Huddersfield central midfielder Jon Worthington on a two-year deal. Worthington, who was released by the Terriers two weeks ago, was captain at the Galpharm Stadium under former boss Andy Ritchie but found the going tough under Lee Clark, and was loaned out to Yeovil shortly after the new manager was brought in back in December. But following his release, Latics boss Dave Penney has made Worthington his second signing on the back of Rob Purdie's arrival last Friday. The hard-working, tough-tackling 26-year-old completed a medical at Boundary Park on Tuesday morning before finalising the move.
