Bantams step up striker search

Stuart McCall admits that he will need to 'spend some money' in his search for a new striker. The Bradford boss recently missed out on free agent Michael Boulding, with the former Mansfield man seemingly set to join League One side Cheltenham. McCall accepts that Boulding is keen to test himself at the highest possible level and revealed that he will now be turning his attentions elsewhere. "We move on there. Michael said all along that he wanted to play in a higher league and he's going to do that," the Bantams boss told the club's official website.

Money

"But whoever we're after now, we will have to spend money on, unless we go down the loan route. He was one of the boys that were out there on a free. The other ones who crop up will be on contract. "I know the money is there and I'm not talking great fortunes. It's something I'm not going to panic about. "Clubs are all back now and releasing players on year-long loans, but we might have to go and spend some money." Meanwhile, McCall has decided not to offer Nick Colgan a contract. The former Barnsley keeper has played in City's last two pre-season matches.
