Colchester winger still struggling with shoulder problem

Crystal Palace's bid to sign Mark Yeates is on hold after the Colchester United winger failed a medical. Yeates missed the final three months of last season after suffering a dislocated shoulder and is still not fully fit. He is tipped to leave Colchester following the club's relegation from the Championship and was discussing a move to Palace. However, Palace manager Neil Warnock admits concerns over Yeates' fitness mean the deal cannot be completed. "We've spoken to Mark about a move, but he has a major problem with his shoulder," Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser. "It's something that needs to be sorted out, but we won't know now for another three to four weeks." Yeates scored eight goals in 29 Championship appearances for Colchester last season after joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur.
