Bradford City fear Marc Bridge-Wilkinson will miss the remainder of the League One campaign.
The 28-year-old midfielder hobbled off early on against Scunthorpe United at the weekend with a knee injury.
Bridge-Wilkinson may have damaged knee ligaments, but Bantams caretaker-manager David Wetherall is hoping for the best.
"He's on crutches and in a brace at the moment so it doesn't look good," Wetherall told the Telegraph & Argus.
"There is a fear we might have seen the last of Marc this season. We're hoping it's not that serious.
"He is a big player for us and losing him would be a massive blow."
