Baker welcomes televised clash

Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker says their televised clash with Bristol City will be a welcome boost to their finances.

The Robins have learned that their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie will be screened live on Sky Sports next month as Steve Cotterill returns to face his former club, where he spent five successful years, for the first time in a competitive match. "It's great to have it on TV and I am really pleased because nothing really went for us last season with draws, but so far this season we've been lucky," Baker told the Western Daily Press. "The extra cash will give us breathing space and it's great for the players to be live in front of the cameras. The whole thing is a real bonus. "It will be great to have Steve back along with Marlon Pack and we get on well with Bristol City at board level. "Both clubs have started the season well and I'm sure Steve will want to win that game, but equally Mark (Yates) will be keen to get one over his old boss."
