Joe Hanks admits he was more nervous about singing on his first away trip with the Cheltenham squad than making his debut.

The 17-year-old midfielder made his senior bow with six minutes to go of the 3-0 victory over Exeter City on Saturday having travelled to Bradford the previous week with the first-team squad and taken part in the traditional initiation for new players. "Singing in front of the lads was horrible and I was glad to get it out of the way, but I wasn't really nervous on Saturday going on for my debut and I felt fine," Hanks told the Gloucestershire Echo. "It was good to get out there and good to get a win as well - what more can you ask for? "I've been at Cheltenham a long time now, so to finally get out there and play in front of the home crowd was something special. My mum, dad and brother were all there watching and I felt alright going on, I thought I did okay. "Now I've had a taste of it, I want to get out there again and again, but I still have a long way to go."
