Assistant manager Neil Howarth was satisfied with both the result and his team's performance as Cheltenham beat Oxford 2-1.
Superb long-range strikes from Darren Carter and on-loan striker Shaun Harrad saw the Robins end their three-match winless run in League Two.
Howarth was especially pleased with how the side bounced back at Whaddon Road on Tuesday night from their 3-1 home defeat by Southend on Saturday.
He said: "We deserved the result we got on Saturday, and we deserved what we got here.
"The lads were determined to put Saturday's result behind them, they did well in training on Monday and there was no way they were going to concede at the end.
"People will look at the score and see a bog-standard home win, but it takes so much effort and determination to get that win."
