Pass masters please Yates

Image: Yates: Plenty of positives

Manager Mark Yates was encouraged by Cheltenham's pass and move philosophy as they secured a 1-1 draw at Wycombe.

The Robins bounced back after Keith Lowe's own goal early on to dominate for long stretches of the match. They deservedly drew level through Shaun Harrad's penalty but despite all their possession, they could not break through in the second half. However, the manner of the performance pleased Yates following their 3-0 defeat to Accrington last weekend. He said: "I told the boys to go out and pass the ball because against Aldershot and Accrington we didn't produce the football we can play. "We needed to pass and take responsibility for keeping the ball and we did just that. I thought we knocked the ball around superbly well. "We just didn't quite have the finishing touch but that will come and there were a lot of pleasing things this week, as opposed to where we were last week."
