Cheltenham defender Steve Elliott hopes to resolve his future with the League Two side this week.
Elliott made his 44th appearance of the season on Sunday as the Robins went down to a 2-0 play-off final defeat against Crewe.
The 33-year-old centre-back is uncertain over what his next move will be but wants to be part of a fresh promotion assault under Mark Yates next term.
"It's football, that's the business we're in - you never know," he said. "I don't know what the gaffer's plans are. We'll chat in the week.
"In football you never know what's around the corner. I'd love to stay. I feel at home, I feel welcome, I feel part of it and I think we can really achieve something here.
"Hopefully I'll be part of it, but I won't know anything until later in the week."
