Still cuts into dismal Daggers

John Still was understandably upset with Dagenham's performance following their 5-0 home defeat to Cheltenham on Saturday.

Luke Summerfield, Steve Elliott and Kaid Mohamed netted in the first half of the League Two clash at Victoria Road and the visitors completed the scoring through James Spencer and a Michael Spillane own goal. The writing was on the wall once Daggers goalkeeper Chris Lewington was sent off for handball outside the box when the score was only 2-0. Still had seen some some promising signs from his players in recent encounters but said: "It was a disappointing result and a disappointing performance. "Since Christmas, our performances, other than against Hereford, have been very good. I've been very pleased with how we've played, but that was not good. "If you're playing well enough, I believe that you end up getting what you deserve. We were beaten by a better team, but we contributed to our own downfall."
