Goulding glad as Robins soar

Jeff Goulding admits Cheltenham have surprised even their own fans this season as the team bids to keep top spot in League Two.

The Robins lead the way ahead of Tuesday night's clash with Torquay, defying pre-season predictions of doom and gloom at Whaddon Road. And while Goulding concedes many around the club may have been taken aback by their side's successes this term, the 27-year-old is confident the Gloucestershire outfit have it in them to maintain their form throughout the rest of the campaign. "I don't think Cheltenham fans expected it this year. We're flying high at the moment but the remaining games are going to be crucial," he said. "At the moment it's great reward for the fans, the chairman, the players and the coaching staff. "A lot of hard work has gone into it and it's all been paying off this season but there's a lot more still to do to make it a great season."
