Mark Yates is on the verge of adding another goalkeeper to his Cheltenham squad to provide competition for Scott Brown.
The Robins have kept just one clean sheet in six attempts this year and have only named a goalkeeper amongst their substitutes once, in the Carling Cup when seven substitutes, rather than five, can be named.
That substitute was 42-year-old goalkeeping coach Steve Book.
Yates told the Gloucestershire Echo: "Something will happen to provide competition because Scotty needs that.
"We are trying to bring quality to the football club and we think we have the right one so Scotty will be under pressure."
