Ten years and counting for Bird

Midfielder David Bird will rack up 10 years at Cheltenham Town after agreeing a new one-year deal.

The 26-year-old joined the Robins in 2002 from non-league side Cinderford and has gone on to make over 300 appearances, making him the club's record Football League appearance holder. He was offered fresh terms by manager Mark Yates at the end of last season and is delighted to put pen to paper. "It's good to still be with the club because it is a big part of my life," he told Town's official website. "My 10th year is a big thing and I think it shows loyalty from both myself and the club. "A lot of players come and go but I'm proud to say that I will be here at Cheltenham Town for a 10th year."
