Two in, one out for Cheltenham

Cheltenham Town have confirmed the signings of Chris Westwood and Lewis Montrose. Central defender Westwood arrives on an initial one-month loan from League One rivals Peterborough United, whilst midfielder Montrose comes form Premier League Wigan for a similar stint. Montrose previously spent two months at Whaddon Road earlier this season and he is now returning for a second spell. Town boss Martin Allen was pleased to get Westwood. "I've known him from his time at Hartlepool and Walsall and I know he also did very well with Peterborough last season," he said. "I've known him from his time at Hartlepool and Walsall and I know he also did very well with Peterborough last season. "We've also signed Lewis Montrose back from Wigan on a one month loan. Although Josh Low came in for the last game and did well, we still need to strengthen in the midfield area. "He's a good athlete, he's young and hungry with a good attitude and wants to play for us."

Kenton out

Allen also confirmed that Darren Kenton had accepted an offer form another club and would be leaving the club with immediate effect. "Darren Kenton was set to sign an extended contract with us but he has had another offer over the weekend," he continued. "We don't know where from, and Darren has now chosen to pursue other interests so we lose him. That's life, we'll adapt and we certainly won't lose any sleep over it." He also revealed the club had made contact with Leicester about bringing Barry Hayles back to the club. "We're waiting to hear from Leicester regarding Barry Hayles. He wants to come back but time will tell," he said. Allen added that Ben Gill is to have his contract terminated by mutual consent, and that Gavin Caines can leave on a free transfer. "We've agreed a contract termination with Ben Gill to allow him to find another club. "Gavin Caines has trained hard and done really well in his work but with bringing in another centre-back, I've allowed him to have a free transfer."
