Cheltenham Town defenders Gavin Caines and Andy Gallinagh have both been offered contract extensions by manager John Ward.

The 20-year-old Caines arrived in the summer from Walsall while Gallinagh, 19, has made the step up from the youth team.

Despite being predominately reserve team players, Ward has been sufficiently impressed by their performances to reward them with deals until the end of the season.

"Both players have done everything I have asked of them," Ward told the club's official website. "They have worked hard and shown an improvement both in training and in reserve team matches.

"This is reward for their efforts. They are two young players who could well improve still further and become first team players for this club."
