Cheltenham Town are set to field an entirely new rearguard in their reserve match against Oxford United.

All four are on trial with The Robins as manager John Ward starts his scouting mission for new players to possibly sign for next season.

Three of the quartet - Damian Batt, David Chick and Greg Cane - are scholarship players with Norwich City. They will be joined by experienced defender-cum-midfielder Jerry Gill (pictured), who spent five years with Birmingham City.

Gill had recently been plying his trade with Northampton Town before being granted a free transfer in August 2002.
