Bournemouth midfielder Wes Fogden has signed for League Two Portsmouth on a free transfer.

Fogden, who won promotion to the Championship in his first full season with the Cherries, leaves the Goldsands Stadium after making more than 70 appearances for the club. "One thing that Foggy did ever since he came to the club was put an incredible amount of effort into every training session and game," assistant boss Jason Tindall told the club's official website. "When you pick Wes you know he will run more than any other player and give his absolute all to the cause. He's certainly never let us down in terms of commitment. "We didn't want to stand in the way of his career progressing in the way that he wants it to. When the offer came in from Portsmouth, we had a chat and he felt it was best he moved on to play regularly. "I'm sure once he steps through the doors at Fratton Park the fans and the players there will love him because he will never let them down."
